Bill Carr, Jr. has been a member of the Town Board since 1998. Retired after more than 30 years with Stiefel Laboratories Bill served in a number of positions including senior vice-president of Global Operations. 

Bill also served in the U.S. Army and the New York National Guard concluding his military service as an Infantry Captain. 

Bill also served four terms on the Cairo Durham Central School District Board of Education as a Board Member, Vice President and President. 

Resident of the Town of Durham for more than four decades Bill is married to Mary Jane (Traver) formerly of the Town of Prattsville, Greene County.

Jerry Cunningham

Jerry Cunngingham is now serving his second term as Town Councilman. He was one of the original members of the Durham Volunteer Ambulance Squad and served there for ten years, as well as, on the Durham School Board for ten years. He is currently on the Board of Greene County Soil and Water and has participated in Extension Service, Farm Bureau and numerous other farm and church organizations.

Jerry and his wife Louise (50 years) raised five sons and currently operate the farm with their son Ted. The farm has been in the family since 1837 and was primarily dairy until October 2012, when the dairy was sold because a of labor shortage and an accident. The farm will remain active now in Devon Beef and hay production, as well as, a retail seed business covering several counties.

Nicholas (Nick) Nahas was appointed to the Town Council in January 2012, and was elected the following November to a 2 year term.  He is retired from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. where he worked for 33 years in synthetic fuels research and fuels process engineering.  He was a US Army Chemical Corps officer in 1968-70.

 

Nick and his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou, came to Oak Hill 16 years ago.  There they operate I.U. Tripp and Co., Antiques and Collectibles on weekends.  They are members of the Durham New York Chamber of Commerce, and the Durham Oak Hill United Methodist Church where Nick chairs the Administrative Council.  Nick is also the Town Historian, secretary of the Greene County Historical Register Committee, a founder of Oak Hill Preservation Association, and a member of the Durham Historic Preservation Commission.  He previously served on the Town of Durham Comprehensive Plan committee.
