The 2020 Durham Comprehensive Plan was adopted by the Town Board on 2 June 2020 after two years of work by a committee of residents and Town Board members.

 The recommendations were:

1: Work for speedy implementation of this Plan

2: Improve communications

3: Increase community activities

4: Enhance economic development

5: Advocate for improved broadband and cell phone coverage

6: Encourage better property maintenance

7: Improve historic preservation

 Work on implementing the above recommendations is being organized by a committee named Durham Connect (originally known as the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee – COPIC), which reports to the town board and has several working groups made up of community volunteers.
